It is with heavy hearts, that the Kossow family would like to announce the unexpected passing of their incredibly loving "Papa," father, and husband: Glenn David Kossow, of Mobile, AL. Typical of his hard-working, reliable, and quietly caring, compassionate nature, Glenn only departed from us after he'd stoically seen his loving wife of 50 years, Joan, through her successful hip operation first. Shortly thereafter, he succumbed to a stroke.

A 1951 "Christmas baby," Glenn absolutely LIVED his 73 wonderful years on this Earth. As a true embodiment of the "work hard, play hard" attitude, if Glenn was not working long hours to ensure his family was well cared for, he could be found skydiving with friends, riding his motorcycle with friends, parading the streets of Mobile with his Mardi Gras mystic society, fishing in the Gulf, or enjoying his swimming pool. The loving family man that he was, even after retiring from his years of either working several jobs, or working long hours to improve the streets of Mobile, Glenn continued to work hard serving both his community and his family. His tough façade was easily unveiled as he would more than willingly show his love by: caring for his wife's rescue animals with her, spending time building a clubhouse for the local swim club, making over his granddaughter's bedroom for her, seeking out just the right shade of nail polish for her liking, mowing his family's yards when they couldn't, working on his son's motorcycles with them, or helping his sons with improvements to their homes... all without hesitation or having to be asked.

On April 7, 2025, Glenn was reunited with his mother and father, Marion Odom Kossow and Robert "Pop" Kossow, his sister Marion Kossow Dalton, and an adoring mother-in-law, Weida Wardle, who all preceded him in death. Until such a time that they see him again, his surviving family: Joan Wardle Kossow (wife), Keegan D. Kossow (son), William M. Kossow (son), Lyla C. Kossow (granddaughter), and J. "Abby" Kossow (daughter-in-law) all wish him well on his next journey, and trust that he is catching all of Heaven's red snapper with his favorite fishing partner, Pop, in the meantime.

Please feel free to join the family in remembering Glenn's life at Trinity Episcopal Church (1900 Dauphin St. Mobile, AL 36606) on May 9, 2025. Services will begin at 11:00, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Alabama Coastal Foundation, which works to improve and protect the very coastline that Glenn enjoyed fishing most. https://www.joinacf.org/donate
