Glenn Edwin Mattoon Jr., affectionately known as "Skeeter," was born on April 10, 1961, in Cortland, New York. He passed away on December 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication.

Glenn was raised in Cortland, NY, where he developed a strong character, shaped in part by the love and guidance of his father Glenn E. Mattoon Sr. and Grandmother Amy. After completing his education at Truxton High School, he embarked on a fruitful career as a diesel mechanic, dedicating an impressive 31 years of service to Austin Bridge & Road. His work ethic was a testament to his commitment and dedication, earning him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike.

On September 2, 1980, Glenn married the love of his life, Gayla Sue Roberson Mattoon. Together, they created a beautiful family, which includes their beloved children, Glenn III and wife Elizabeth, Daughters Stephanie, and Christina. Glenn's greatest joy was found in his role as a grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his grandchildren: Andrea, Anthony, Jacob, Isaiah, Matthew, Legend, Mia, Amy, Aubrey, and Hazel and Bubba. His playful spirit was evident as he lovingly picked on his grandsons, bringing smiles and laughter to every family gathering.

In addition to his familial bonds, Glenn had a profound love for NASCAR and western movies, hobbies that enriched his life and provided countless joyous moments with those around him. He was known not only for his warm heart but also for his ability to create an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie wherever he went, especially among his family and friends.

Preceding Glenn in death were his daughter, Angel Ann Mattoon, his grandson, Lil Scoot, his father, Glenn Mattoon Sr., and his beloved grandmother, Amy Brooks, who played a significant role in his upbringing. These losses were great, but they did not diminish the love that Glenn held for his family.

As we gather to honor Glenn’s memory, visitation will take place on January 2, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM both held at Authentic City Church located at 6600 New York Ave. Arlington, TX 76002

Glenn Edwin Mattoon Jr. will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his contagious laughter, and his joyful spirit. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will forever shine brightly in the lives he touched.
