Glenn T. Mealer Jr., known affectionately as J.R., passed away on November 17, 2025, at the age of 33. He was born on November 5, 1992, in Jackson, Mississippi. Glenn's life was marked by kindness, intelligence, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.
J.R. was a proud graduate of Timberland High School, class of 2011. From an early age, he demonstrated a passion for athletics and community, evident in his role as an elementary basketball coach. Through coaching, he inspired his team and forged strong connections with the children, showcasing his caring and nurturing personality.
An avid sports enthusiast, J.R. was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, and the Tennessee Titans. He found joy and solace in music, where he showcased his creative talents by writing and recording songs. His playful spirit and sense of humor brought joy to those around him, earning him a reputation as a thoughtful and generous person.
Professionally, Glenn excelled in every position he held, consistently regarded as a top performer by colleagues and peers throughout his career. His dedication and work ethic garnered the respect of many in his field.
J.R. is survived by his loving mother, Linda (Don) Greco; father, Glenn (MaryNell) Mealer Sr.; two sisters, Ashley (Tim Wolf) Mealer and Hannah (Grant Hoffmeister) Clark; two brothers, Josh Pyle and Justin Hutchison; his significant other, Talazia Boards; and his beloved daughter, Makyiah Edgin. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a vast network of family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Visitation will take place on November 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. Glenn's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, remembered for his laughter, love, and the profound impact he made on those around him.
