Glenn P. Nash passed away September 1st in Hendersonville, NC. He was born in 1939 in Henderson County, the son of LeeRoy and Edith Worley Nash. His early years were spent in Henderson and Buncombe Counties. He graduated from Memphis, Michigan schools in 1956. Glenn started Iron Work in 1956, his first job assisting in the building of the Mackinac Bridge. As his career progressed, he supervised many large projects for the auto industry in the Detroit area, and ran large jobs in other states as well. He happily retired in the early 1990s. Glenn Nash was a proud member of Iron Workers Local 25 in Detroit for over 60 years. He married Beverly Dart Hendricks in Farmington Hills, Michigan in 1980. Glenn and Beverly relocated to Hendersonville in 1993 and built their dream home in rural Hendersonville, near Champion Hills. Glenn was a very talented man and did everything to perfection. Glenn enjoyed continually working on the property, building two Koi ponds and patios. He also found time to assist his wife, Beverly, with her business of estate and moving sales. Glenn fought a long and tough battle with cancer and Lewy Body Dementia, with his wife by his side, assisted by their children. Thankfully he was able to remain at home `until the last two days of his life, at which time he required treatment given at Pardee and Elizabeth House. He was so loved and respected by his family who will miss him tremendously. Glenn lived a long and happy life. Glenn and Beverly were best of friends and after retirement enjoyed working together and traveling and seeing the United States. He enjoyed the last trip he was able to take which was visiting Maine two years ago. He said that was one of his most favorite trips. He is survived by his wife Beverly, his children, Kim Nash of Michigan, Keith Nash of Michigan, Sandra Nash of Arden, Scott Nash of Hendersonville, Richard Hendricks of Flat Rock and Kelly Hendricks Marlett of Hendersonville, as well as eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Jack (Karen) Nash of Hendersonville, Carrol Nash, Wilma Nash and Jim Nash of Michigan. He also leaves behind his best buddy, Sergio his cat. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A special niece, Kathy Nash of Hendersonville, provided lots of loving attention and company during Glenn's illness. Mr. Nash was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Hugh Nash. Glenn Nash was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Michigan and the Wolverine Lodge in Detroit. Glenn also enjoyed fishing and firearms. A Funeral Service to honor his life will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 6, 2024, in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Heather Besoiu, Funeral Celebrant officiating.
