Malcolm Plotkin Obituary

Malcolm Plotkin
Malcolm Albert Plotkin, born on October 17, 1941, in Stamford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, at the age of 84. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and integrity that touched all who knew him.
Malcolm was the beloved son of the late Robert and Sylvia Lefkowitz Plotkin. Following his graduation from high school, he honorably served in the United States Navy, where he began his journey of dedication and service to others.
After his military service, Malcolm returned to Stamford and took over the family business, Plotkin Lumber, with his brother, Phillip. He later pursued his passion for craftsmanship by working as a skilled carpenter until his well-deserved retirement.
A man of many interests, Malcolm was known for his love of cooking, his enthusiasm for NASCAR, and his appreciation for rock and roll music. He enjoyed the open road, often touring the area on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In retirement, he and his cherished wife, Tina Boccuzzi Plotkin, traveled across the United States in their RV, creating memories and sharing laughter wherever they went.
Malcolm's sense of humor and his ability to put others at ease were among his most endearing qualities. He was a friend to all, known for his honesty and friendliness. His beloved dog, Dazze May, was always by his side, a testament to his love for animals.
Above all, Malcolm was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Tina; his daughters, Kimberly Mahandru and her husband Sanjay, Lizbeth Plotkin, and Lori Carpenter; his grandchildren, Michael, Natalie, Ryan, Aaron, and Cash; and his great-grandchild, Liam. He is also survived by his sister, Lorraine Kweskin and her husband David, and his brother, Phillip Plotkin and his wife Kendra, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In accordance with Malcolm's wishes, no formal services are planned at this time.
Those who wish to honor his memory are invited to make memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675, or online at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
Malcolm Albert Plotkin will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy of kindness, humor, and love will continue to inspire those he left behind.

My brother Mal (Mousie) was a unique person! He had a strong work ethic and a stronger family tie. He gave Mom lots of challenges but their bond was strong. To me he was an adviser about day to day issues. Should I tip someone? How to flavor a recipe I was making! And what to do about some upgrade in the house! It´s sad to think I can´t call or talk to him anymore. There is a tremendous void...thank God there are many loving memories. May he rest in peace.
