Glenn Reed Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowser Family Funeral Home - Mena on Feb. 12, 2026.
Glenn David Reed, age 73, of Smithville, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Wednesday, June 11, 1952, to Vestal Lee and Imogene Wynn Reed in De Queen, Arkansas.

Glenn was a devoted servant of the Lord whose life was defined by faith, conviction, and love. In the early 1970s, he surrendered to the ministry, answering God's call with courage and commitment. He earned his Master's Degree in Theological Studies and began his pastoral ministry in 1979. Over the next 45 years, he faithfully served seven churches, preaching the Gospel with passion and carrying a deep burden to see lives changed and souls saved.

Beyond the pulpit, Glenn was a loving husband and family man who cherished his wife and family with his whole heart. He was also a man who embraced life's simple joys. You could often find him picking his guitar or sitting behind the piano, singing songs of faith. A proud Arkansas Razorback fan, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. He loved taking to the skies in his Cessna 150, finding freedom and peace above the clouds. Hunting, fishing, and tending his garden were among his favorite pastimes, each reflecting his appreciation for God's creation.

Glenn leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, steadfast love, and a life poured out in service to both his Lord and his family.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents and grandmother, Mattie "Mama" Wynn, who helped raise him.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Reed of Smithville, Oklahoma; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Brandi Reed of Smithville, Oklahoma; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Mike Carter of Smithville, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Karen Reed of Andover, Kansas; six grandchildren, Maghan and David Evans of Lonoke, Arkansas, Jameson Reed of Lonoke, Arkansas, Alyssa Carter of Smithville, Oklahoma, Kaylie and Braiden Davis of Big Cedar, Oklahoma, Nick Munoz of Venice, Florida and Kaitlyn Munoz of Jay, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, J.D. Evans, Carter Evans, Dani Kemp and Noah Kemp; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Octavia Baptist Church with Brother Ed Rogers, Brother Brad Smith, and Brother Brian Hill officiating. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
