Glenn D. Sanford

Glenn D. Sanford passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023 in Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, N.J. Glenn is survived by his Father Jerry, brother David, Aunts Rita & Pam, and Uncles Paul & Ken, and many cousins and longtime friends. He was predeceased by his mother Barbara. He leaves behind his thousands of students. Born in Staten Island, Glenn graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School, where he played football and baseball, and St. John's University. He received a Masters' degree from St. Peter's University and did extended course work at Kean University and Georgian Court University.
Glenn spent almost two decades employed at the Rahway Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher working with students with disabilities. Whether it was bringing history to life as Leif Erickson, Abraham Lincoln, a British Redcoat, or Santa Claus, his main focus was to make learning fun and bring smiles to countless faces of the staff and students. His dedication was unequaled, and he will be sorely missed by his Rahway Academy family.
He was a NJSIAA Referee for Lacrosse and Soccer. He played softball, loved paddle boarding, his pet rabbits, and was an avid Jets and Mets fans. Glenn was well known for having such a big heart, smile and even bigger personality.
Whether it was helping a neighbor, student, or good cause, you could always count on Glenn.

Friends will be received Monday October 30th, 3pm-8pm. Funeral Tuesday October 31st 9:30am visiting at funeral home. Mass at St. Christopher Church at 10:30am followed by a private cremation.
