Glenn Scott Simmerer, 64, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024. Loving husband of Elizabeth "Liz" (nee Irizarry); Step-father of Seth Zastudil (Stephanie); Step-grandfather of Brayden Zastudil; Son of the late Glenn W. and Mert C. Simmerer; Brother of Cindy Dowczek (the late Will), Debra Thornton (Jim), and Brad Simmerer (Julia); Uncle of Debbie Ward, Deanna Lutz, Kelly Smerek, Derek Thornton, Corey Simmerer, Catie Simmerer and Carter Simmerer; Friend to many.
Glenn was a tried-and-true Tile Installer with the local Carpenters' Union, and was a longtime faithful parishioner of Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church. Though Glenn was well-known and loved by many, there was a lot more to him than people may have realized. Glenn took pride in having been a Boy Scout, high school wrestler, baseball player, youth baseball manager, bowler, fisherman, billiards player, darter, softball player, and hunter among many other interests. Glenn also had a love for all animals but was particularly fond of dogs, with Black Labs being his favorite. Glenn loved his country and was an avid World War II historian. A favorite pastime of his was watching classic films that celebrated American heroics.
