IN LOVING MEMORY
Glenn Ray Simmons
Jun 21 1945 - Jan 18 2026 Jan 18 2026
Glenn Ray Simmons, age 80, of
McKinney, Texas, passed away on January 18, 2026. He was born on June 21, 1945, in
Wylie, Texas, to Elsie Inez Jackson and Alvin Henry Simmons.
Glenn married the love of his life, Inis Elizabeth Mack, on December 19, 1969, in
McKinney, Texas. Their life together was marked by dedication, love, and strong family values. Glenn Simmons lived a life defined by two great loves: his Savior and his family. As a minister, he did more than preach the Gospel-he embodied it daily through his kindness, his faithful prayers, and his unwavering dedication to those he served.
Glenn was most at home when surrounded by his family, whom he loved fiercely and guided with a gentle, steady spirit. He also carried deep love and enduring grief for his beloved wife, Inis Simmons. Though her absence weighed heavily on his heart, his faith sustained him, and he often spoke of his longing for the day he would walk with her again in heaven.
Whether standing in the pulpit or gathered around the family table, Glenn's passion for God was the constant heartbeat of his life. Now, he has returned to the Father he served so faithfully-reunited in promise with the wife he cherished. He leaves behind a family who will miss him deeply, yet carries forward his faith, his love, and the light he so freely gave.
Glenn is survived by his beloved daughters, Elizabeth Jarrett and Jay Jarrett of
McKinney, Texas, and Jennifer Williams and Greg Williams, along with his cherished granddaughter, Gemma Williams. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorris Jones of Orono, Maine, and Oneida Howard of Arp, Texas; and his brother, Percy Simmons and wife Gracy Simmons of
Wylie, Texas.
He was equally close to and is survived by his wife's family: Nancy and Michael Tapp and family of
McKinney, Texas; Kristi Mack and family of Whitewright, Texas; and Rodger and Nancy J. Mack and family of Rochester, New York.
Glenn was deeply loved by many nieces and nephews, including Sandra and Doug Cavenaugh; Claudette and Buddy Barnett; Mike and Melissa Howard; Jimmy and Carla Howard; Becky and Jimmy Payne; Susan and Darren Meekins; Ken Simmons; Terry Sherrell; and numerous other nieces and nephews whom he held dear.
He is also survived by a special chosen family member, whom he loved as a son, Tony Miller, and his wife Stephanie Miller and their family of Lavon, Texas, as well as many other loving family members and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his loving wife, Inis Simmons; his grandson, Jensen Simmons; his sisters, June Sherrell, Tommy Blackmon, Geraldine Dickey, and Peggy Waddington; and his parents, Elsie Inez Jackson and Alvin Henry Simmons.
