Michael Alexander Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home - Paris on Feb. 27, 2026.
On February 24, 2026, Reverend Michael Louis Alexander answered the Master's call to eternal rest in McKinney, Texas.

He was born April 3, 1952, in Petersburg, Virginia, to Leslie Joe Alexander and Erma Jean Walton Alexander, both of whom preceded him in death. At an early age, he joined St. Paul Baptist Church, where he was baptized and began his spiritual journey.

Mike attended Permian High School in Odessa, Texas. He continued his education at Paris Junior College and later East Texas State University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business.

On June 27, 1987, he was united in holy matrimony to Bertha Mae Davis. No children were born of this union.

Mike faithfully served the City of Paris for more than 20 years in the Code Enforcement Department, where he later retired. He also worked as an agent with American National Insurance Company. Reverend Alexander further dedicated his life to ministry, serving at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Blossom, Texas, until his health began to decline.

The loving memories of Reverend Michael Louis Alexander will forever remain in the hearts of those who cherished him: his son, Joseph Lance Watkins (Keyactha) of Ramstein Air Base, Germany; his sisters, Thetis Elder of Dallas, Texas; Edith Bills of Paris, Texas; Cheryl Council of Garland, Texas; Renae Alexander of Dallas, Texas; Sandy Alexander of Arkansas; and Schonte Banks of Dallas, Texas; and Frankie Dangerfield of Paris, Texas, who preceded him in death. His brothers include Lionel Jones of Huntington, West Virginia; Joe Edward Alexander of Paris, Texas; Leslie Joe Alexander, Jr. of Paris, Texas; Larry Alexander of Mesquite, Texas; and Kerry Braxton of Dallas, Texas. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Paris New Generation Church. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, March 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
