Glenn was born on August 19, 1953, to Samuel “Sam” E. Trout and Leona Faye Matthews, in Lovington, NM. On July 12, 1974, he married the love of his life, Sheila Martin, in Denver City they had been married for 51 years.

Glenn was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was marked by hard work, laughter, and deep love for his family and community. If you knew Glenn well, you know that he was always trying to make a joke to make you laugh.

Glenn started working at the age of just 14 years old. He worked the majority of his time as an oilfield salesman. He never met a stranger. He built lasting relationships throughout his career and was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and friendly personality.

During his daughters’ younger years, Glenn dedicated countless hours to serving as head of the local girls’ softball league. He proudly coached for many seasons, supporting not only Wanda and Becky but also countless young athletes in the community. He believed in showing up and teaching life lessons that went far beyond the field.

For 41 years, Glenn and his beloved wife, Sheila, owned and operated their own fireworks stand (Trout’s Fireworks). It was more than just a business to Glenn; it was a joy that he got spend with his kids and grandkids. They all learned the tricks and trades of the business. He loved helping children pick out their fireworks and took pride in seeing their faces light up with excitement. Those moments brought him genuine happiness.

In his spare time, Glenn enjoyed fishing, skeet shooting, tinkering with his race car, and spending time with family and friends. He never missed an opportunity to gather with the people he loved most. Glenn was truly a giving person and would have done anything to help anyone in need. Glenn had a way of making everyone feel like family even if they were not related.

Glenn treasured being a dad to Wanda and Becky, but when the grandchildren arrived, they quickly became the apple of his eye. The great-grandchildren, however, held a place in his heart that was beyond words. They brought him immeasurable pride and joy.

Glenn’s legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he poured into his family and community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Sheila Trout; his two daughters Wanda Durham, and husband Pat, Becky Riley and husband Jason; six grandchildren, Cheyenne and Cody Hendrix, Justin Riley and Makalya, Grayce Riley, Caitlynn and Cody Goff, Charity Riley, and Miles Riley; seven great grandchildren; and two brother-in-laws, BJ and Red.
