Glenna Lee Meadows Ward passed from this life March 16, 2024 in the Sevier County Medical Center. Glenna was born November 29, 1939 in Stearns, Kentucky and was an original "Coal Miner's Daughter."
Glenna was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Gillham, where in her younger days, she sang many specials as part of a trio with her sister-in-law, Emma Lee Mickle, and family friend, Clarice Roden. She had a passion for music, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Beulah Meadows, two brothers, Zethel (Bud) Meadows and James Meadows; one sister, Wanda Hamblin; a son, Kenneth Paul Ward; two grandsons, Tyrel Ward and Brandon Ward; and one daughter-in-law, Krista Lambert Ward.
She is survived by three sons, Bill Ward of De Queen, Terry Ward and his wife, Pamela, of Mena, Bob Ward and his wife, Angelina, of De Queen; one brother, Lemuel Meadows and his wife Joan, of Winfield, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kristy Rhode of Smyrna, Tennessee, Tessa White of Wickes, Arkansas, Michael Ward of Mena, Arkansas, Kristy Ward of Glendale, California, Kandice Ward of De Queen, Matthew Glasgow of De Queen, Jacob Glasgow of Bakersfield, California, and Kenlee Ward of De Queen. Great-grandchildren include Bailey Ward of Conway, Arkansas, Payzlee Ward of De Queen, Joslynn Glasgow and Alaina Glasgow of De Queen, and Benjamin Carver of New Hope, Arkansas, Savannah and Nathan White of Wickes, Arkansas, Nate Duffy of Glendale, California.
A memorial service will be held graveside at the Cossatot Cemetery on Saturday, March 30, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by family friend, Brother Steven Chenoweth.
