Glenroy Fritz Ebner

Funeral services for Glenroy Fritz Ebner, 91, of Giddings, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. John Waak officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery in Giddings.

Glenroy Fritz Ebner was born on June 17, 1934, in Ledbetter, Texas, to Edwin Ebner and Edna (Schultz) Ebner. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith on November 18, 1934, and confirmed in 1947, at Waldeck Lutheran Church. After graduation from high school in Carmine, he married the love of his life Waldine (Schlabach) Ebner on July 10, 1955, in Shelby, Texas. They were married for 70 loving years. He joined the United States Army where he served for two years during the Korean Conflict and was later honorably discharged. He and Waldine were blessed with a beautiful little girl, Debra, on May 4, 1959. For over 20 years, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Industrial Generating Corporation. Glenroy had multiple hobbies including farming, working his cattle, raising calves, riding his tractor, bailing hay, hunting, fishing, dancing with his wife, camping and spending time with his loving family. Glenroy was an active member of community organizations including Sons of Hermann and the American Legion York Post 276 for many years. Glenroy served as president and an usher for several years at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings.

Glenroy passed away unexpectedly the afternoon of Sunday, November 23, 2025, at his home in Giddings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Ebner and Edna Ebner; his sister Loretta Chilek and his brother, Raywood Ebner.

Glenroy is survived by his wife, Waldine Ebner of Giddings; his daughter, Debra Bailey of Cedar Park; his grandchildren, Bridget and husband Jason Brandt of Leander and Michelle and husband Jim Hensel of Liberty Hill; his great-grandchildren, Brylee Brandt and fiancé Carson Perkins of Austin, Colin Brandt of San Antonio, Brenna Hensel, Camdyn Hensel, and Cade Hensel of Liberty Hill; his siblings, Valgene Ebner and wife Carmen of Ledbetter and Max and wife Brenda Ebner of Giddings; his sister-in-law Ginger Ebner of Ledbetter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Brandt and Jim Hensel.

Pallbearers will be Colin Brandt, Cade Hansel, Carson Perkins, Jason Ebner, Reagie Ebner, and Jason Harris.

Memorials may be made to the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings, Texas.
