Glinda Rhodes Obituary

She was born in Douglas, GA, to the late James Callie Thigpen and Lula Mae Dempsey Thigpen. She was a homemaker most of her life. She was remembered as a loving mother, friend, and mentor who touched many lives. She was a strong woman who loved unconditionally, and in her spare time she could grow anything.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Ann Taylor.
She is survived by a son, James Carl King of Hoboken; a daughter, Kandi Marie Hinkle of Craigsville, WV; five grandchildren, Amy Smart (Bradley), James King, Michael King (Amber), Kelsey Brooke Griffin, and Kaitlyn Briannia Griffin; nine great-grandchildren, Courtney Baker, Haley Baker, Ansley King, Justin Martin, Skyy Purdom, Michael Smart, Braylen Smart, James King, Jr. and Colton King; three great-great grandchildren; and eight siblings: Jean Redding (Elton), Linda Tanner (Mickey), Donald Thigpen, Richard Thigpen, Melvin Thigpen, Ken Mullis, Keith Mullis, and Kathy Carlson (Jim); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (November 20, 2025) at High Bluff Cemetery.
