Obituary of Gloria Alfieri
Gloria Alfieri passed away at her home in Warren, New Jersey, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Born in Orange to the late Frank and Mary Byrne, Gloria grew up with a deep sense of family, purpose, and a passion for life that would become her defining trait. She lived in Cranford for a time, where fate introduced her to Vincent, the love of her life. Their bond was immediate and enduring, and after marrying, they built their life together in Warren, where they've resided for the past 30 years.
Gloria's career was marked by ambition, brilliance, and a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit. She began as an IT consultant, a field she entered with confidence and drive, and where she and Vincent first worked side by side. Drawing from their professional success and shared vision, they later co-founded The Rembrandt Company, an information technology firm they owned and operated for over two decades. Gloria's sharp intellect, tireless work ethic, and unwavering attention to detail helped turn their company into a true success story.
Even in retirement, Gloria's energy never waned. She seamlessly transitioned into managing commercial and investment properties with the same diligence and grace she brought to every pursuit. She saw each challenge as an opportunity and infused every endeavor with care, precision, and a deep-rooted desire to help others.
That desire to uplift extended far beyond business. Gloria lived her life with a rare kind of passion-not for recognition or personal gain, but for the betterment of those around her. Whether it was helping a friend prepare for a wedding, offering advice in a time of uncertainty, or simply sending a heartfelt note at just the right moment, Gloria had a gift for making people feel seen, supported, and loved. Her words, whether spoken or written, had a way of helping others believe in themselves.
She was a woman of loyalty and kindness, remembered by all who knew her as warm, thoughtful, and deeply inspirational. A gifted actress in her younger years, she took to the stage with the Cranford Dramatic Club, starring in beloved productions like South Pacific and other memorable musicals. Her remarkable memory made learning lines effortless, and her performances reflected the same wholehearted enthusiasm that defined her life.
Later in life, Gloria's spiritual convictions grew deeper. She became a source of comfort and perspective for many, always the voice of reason, always choosing to focus on the good in every situation. Her optimism was not naive-it was courageous. She believed in hope, and in the power of love and faith to overcome all things.
Gloria is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Vincent, who cherished every moment of their life together. She was a beloved mother to her cherished cats, Gabriella and Marietta, who brought her endless joy and companionship. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Byrne, and his daughter, Charlene, along with a close-knit circle of dear friends and extended family who will continue to honor her memory with love and gratitude.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd.,
Watchung, NJ, with a service beginning at 11:30 a.m. to celebrate Gloria's extraordinary life.
Gloria Alfieri leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering belief in the goodness of people. Her light touched many, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her.
