Gloria Robertson Bordelon was born on September 24, 1953, and died on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the age of 72. For almost 70 years, she was lovingly known as Sis, for 50 years, she was Mama, for 42 years Aunt Glo, for 23 years Mimi, and for 12 years More NeNe. She grew up and lived her adult life surrounded by family in Sallis, Mississippi. She passed to the next life in the same way, surrounded by those who loved her.
Gloria is survived by her husband, James Bordelon, and her son, Shannon Lewis; his wife, Jana, and their boys, Eli, Adam, and Aden Lewis. She is also survived by her younger brothers, Robby Robertson and his wife Reba; and Hubert Robertson and his wife Kay; her nieces Regan Robertson Carpenter (Chris), Lauren Robertson Eaton (Luke); her great-nephews Rob Eaton, Colston Carpenter, Rhett Eaton, and Vol Eaton; and her great-niece and little Robertson princess Swayze Carpenter; all of Sallis.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Courtney Bordelon; her grandson, Will Lewis; her parents, Willie and Dorothy Robertson; and her brother, Bill Robertson.
To know Gloria was to love her. She was a constant source of joy, advice, and entertainment for her family and friends. Her humor was well known and unmatched. She was honest and kind to others and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.
A trusted and faithful friend, Gloria was the type of person everyone needs in their life. She will especially be remembered by her lifelong best friend, Patricia Dickerson.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 4, at Sallis Baptist Church with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and funeral at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Harmonia Cemetery in Sallis.
Memorials may be made to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, which treated her daughter, Courtney, or to the Harmonia Cemetery Fund.
