Gloria Carreño, 74, of Ottawa, passed away on December 25, 2025, at the Pavilion of Ottawa.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at noon at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Father Patrick Wille officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Winnebago, Illinois at a later date.
Gloria was born on June 28, 1951 in Guanajuato, Mexico, the daughter of Gerardo and Esther (Ramirez) Carreño. Gloria enjoyed traveling. Whether it was going to visit family or to explore a new destination, she enjoyed being on the go. She liked going camping and cooking for her family and friends. Gloria also enjoyed photography and took many pictures during her lifetime. Gloria will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Gloria is survived by her son, Josh Carreño; brothers, Herminio (Ortencia) Carreño, Saul (Mercedez) Carreño, Filiberto (Tereza) Carreño and Ramiro (Rosa) Carreño; sisters, Vita Salcido, Rosa (José) Gonzalez, Elvira (Steven) Strait, and Luz (Rogelio) Gutierrez. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Benjamin Carreño; and sisters, Concepción Carreño and Leonor Trejo.
