Gloria G. Chipman

Gloria G. Chipman, 101, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025_at Cypress Glen Assisted Living facility in Greenville, NC. Gloria was born in Easton, PA on April 19, 1924 and was the daughter of Anna and Edwin Gately. She was married to Frank L. Chipman in 1948.
Gloria graduated from Easton High School in 1941 and from Moravian College for Women in 1945 where she was Student Government President in her senior year. She was also honored in Who's Who in American Colleges in 1945. After graduation, Gloria was a Chemist for Easton's Dixie Cup Corporation. She was also an active volunteer in her Easton years. She was a director of the YWCA in Easton as well as a member of the Board of Governors at the Easton Home. She was a dedicated judge and official for the area swim leagues. These leagues included the Easton YMCA, Stones Crossing Swim Club, and Northampton Country Club, where all three of her daughters were champion swimmers. During her retirement, Gloria and husband, Frank, lived in Kinston, NC and Atlantic Beach, NC. Together, they traveled extensively domestically and internationally and loved to cruise.
Her final move was to the Cypress Glen Retirement Community. There, she was an avid crossword puzzler and knitter. She made many afghans for medical patients, as well as,
hats for cancer patients in the Greenville, NC area.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Frank.
She is survived by her three daughters, Ann, Lorie, and Susan, by grandchildren, Eric and
Nicole, and her great grandchildren, Josefien, Julian, Benoit, Sebastian, and Franklin.
Services will be private.
