Gloria Dishinger, age 74, passed away on October 4, 2024 at Osage Rehab and Health Care Center in Osage, IA, surrounded by her family.
Gloria Jean Dishinger was born on January 29, 1950 to Calvin and Gladys (Phillips) Wells in Osage, IA. She was united in marriage to Ronald Dishinger on February 25, 1967 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. To this union three sons were born.
Gloria was a proud homemaker and farm wife. She took wonderful care of her family making sure she had meals prepared and ready at the same time each day. She enjoyed baking bread, gardening and canning. Gloria was a member of the United Methodist Church in Riceville for many years. She had a love for animals. She enjoyed many walks around her hometown of Riceville. Gloria was a hard worker, kind to everyone and loved her family with her whole heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald in 2018 and her siblings.
Survivors include her three sons: Lonnie (Sara) Dishinger of Lime Springs, IA, Gary (Alyssa) Dishinger of Ankeny, IA and Michael (Tabitha Kleman) Dishinger of Charles City, IA; grandchildren: Jennifer (Derrick) Forsythe, Konner Parr, Caleb Parr, Jaxon Parr, Garrett Dishinger, Allie Dishinger, Grant (Alexandra) Dishinger, Jeremy Hahn, John Onken, Jason Onken and Nathaniel Dishinger; four great-grandchildren: Austyn, Dalton, Mariah and Shaun "Bubba", three great-great-grandchildren: Emerson, Genevieve and Callum; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Schmelzer (formerly known as Lindstrom) Funeral Home in Riceville. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Thursday morning at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Riceville. Schmelzer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
