Nancy Dishinger

Our beloved Nancy passed away March 22, 2025, at the Naples Pineapple House Memory Care after struggling for many months with Alzheimer's disease. Nancy was born on July 28,1939 to Robey Kendall Hardy and Lela Braithewaite Hardy in Kokomo, Indiana, where she lived until 1961.
Nancy lived a full and interesting life. After raising her family, she married Jim on September 1,1990 and moved with him to Salt Lake City, Utah. They spent their free time traveling the world, which Nancy, a girl from a small town, embraced totally. She rejoiced when friends joined them on their travels. She and Jim moved to Forest Glen in 2003 after retiring earlier that year.
Shorly after arriving, Nancy accepted the position of Social Committee Chairperson, and the fun began! Nancy led a very small three-person committee and began introducing and leading various activities to the Club. She was particularly proud of the 50/50 Raffles, which raised funds to purchase the Club's first piano. She then started the Solo Club, the Bible Study group, the Book Club, introduced Hand and Foot, and brought Bingo to the Club. Not enough yet, the "Forest Glen Idol" Talent Show was welcomed and enjoyed by all. A lover of fashion, she led and moderated the Forest Glen Fashion Show for many years, which now has become a yearly event.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Jim, sons Jeff Barnes and Dan Koerselman, and daughter Jennifer Barnes, along with stepdaughters Jill and Jamie Dishinger, and their spouses, children, and grandchildren.
A memorial Service will be held at Mayflower Church of Christ at 2900 County Barn Road in Naples at 11:00 o'clock on Saturday, April 12th, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Avow Hospice or Mayflower United Church OF Christ of Naples would be appreciated.
