Gloria Giannone, 75, of Jordan, NY, and Wilton Manors, FL, passed away peacefully on January 01, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born October 28, 1950, in Auburn, NY, Gloria dedicated her career to Auburn Central Schools, retiring after 32 years of service. Known for her zest for life, open door, and generous spirit, she brought joy to everyone she met. She shared 35 wonderful years with her spouse, Karen "Sissy" Pavia, between their homes in NY and FL. Gloria was predeceased by her parents, Michael Giannone, Jane Picheca Giannone, her aunts and uncles Ann (Edward) Divietro and Phillomena (Frank) Nardello. She is survived by her devoted spouse, Karen (Sissy) Pavia, her sister, Jane Gauthier; her niece, Kimberly (Derek) Day; cousins, Tommy Nardella and Debby Caloia, a large circle of friends, and her beloved "Wilton Manors Boys" which she considered family.
A Catholic Mass and Memorial Service will be held during the month of May 2026 in Auburn, New York. The specific details for the services in Auburn will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Hospice (https://www.catholichealthservices.org/donate/)

I am so very sorry for your loss. Gloria was my sixth grade teacher. She was creative, bright , and made everyday exciting ! She was an outstanding teacher and role model. I am now a retired reading specialist because Gloria showed me at a young age that education can be fun while learning.
