Gloria Henson, age 76, of Taylorville, Il. and formerly of Waverly, Il. died Wednesday (July 16, 2025) at her residence.

She was born August 18, 1948 near Waverly, Il. daughter of the late LeeRoy and Virginia Lawson Long.

She married Robert Lee Henson on August 13, 1965 in Bowling Green, Mo. and he preceded her in death on November 2, 2023.

Surviving are children, Tina Hill (Ronald) of Fillmore, Il. and Bob Henson (Spring) of Taylorville, Il.; four grandchildren, Caitlin Baker (Tyler) and Natalie Eaton (Ronnie) all of Nokomis, Il., Matthew Hill of Fillmore, Il., Milana Henson of Springfield, Il.; two step-grandchildren, Isaac Selby (Melodie Paluska) and Caleb Selby all of Taylorville, Il.; six great-grandchildren, Gabe, Hadley, Isaiah, Anna, Calvin, Emma, and Josie; siblings, Marie Vaniter of Chesterfield, Il., Otto Long (Linda) of Waverly, Il., Rachel Rahn (Mike) of Athens, Il., and Mike Long of Springfield, Il.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Barbie Henson; and a brother Art Long.

Through the years Gloria held several positions in clerical work. She was a member of the Taylorville Christian Church where she was very involved with her church. She also volunteered at the Taylorville Food Pantry. Gloria loved to read and had a group who would get together weekly to play cards, board games, and have snacks. In addition, she also loved to craft.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday (July 22, 2025) at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly, Il. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Taylorville Christian Church and sent to Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, 349 E. Tanner, Waverly, Il. 62692. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
