Rebecca (Becky) Jane Thompson, age 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Copper Creek Cottages Memory Care in Litchfield.

She was born June 3, 1939 in Carlinville, IL, to Harvey and Lena (Prevedell) Phelps.

She was a 1957 graduate of Carlinville High School. She married the late Robert Alan Thompson on July 6, 1958 at Carlinville Federated Church. Becky spent most of her career in the business office at Blackburn College and helped around the family farm. Becky truly lived life to the fullest through spending time with family and friends, the biggest sports fan for her grandchildren, many years of pig shows at county fairs, gardening, baking and quilting.

She is survived by her three children; Debbie (Bob) McDaniels of Carlinville; Robert "Bob" Jr. (Tinni) Thompson of North Carolina and Ronald (Stacey) Thompson of Carlinville. Becky was a proud grandmother of Jason Dawson; Kayla (Patrick) Martin; Nathan (Kayla) Thompson; Triston Thompson; great-grandchildren Braiden Dawson, Hadley Martin and Baby Girl Thompson due in January. Also survived by sister Shirley Russell of Michigan; brother Bud (Lois) Phelps of Oklahoma; sister-in-law Karen (Don) Wills and several nieces and nephews.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Mary and her husband Raymond Huyear, brother-in-law Al Russell and sister-in-law Marilyn and her husband John Kirkland.

To have been loved by Becky was a blessing by God.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (August 30, 2025) at Carlinville United Methodist Church in Carlinville, Il. Burial will follow in Mayfield Cemetery in Carlinville, Il. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to Safe Families of Macoupin Co. and sent to Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, 349 E. Tanner, Waverly, Il. 62692. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
