Gloria Lee Savage entered this life on October 6, 1932, in Northampton County. She was born to the late Judison Savage and Delsie Fisher Savage. She peacefully gained her wings on Sunday, June 29, 2025, after telling her daughter, Sprang, "good morning."
Gloria gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Usher Board at Bethel Baptist Church until her health started to decline. A meeting at the Fairgrounds led to her marrying George T. Mapp on December 8, 1951. They were together for 67 years. Gloria enjoyed attending church, reading the Bible, sewing for family and friends, cooking/baking, and working at Mapp's Grocery - a store she and George T. started together. Gloria was a people person. She loved meeting and talking to her customers. Thanksgiving was one of her favorite holidays and she couldn't wait to be surrounded by family and cooking in the kitchen with them. She always made plates for several residents on "New Road" who were celebrating the holiday by themselves. Her Biggest enjoyment was talking on the phone to her friends. Left to carry out her legacy is one daughter, Sprang Mapp; one son, Mark Mapp; 9 grandchildren, Hiram Crawford, Aquarius Brickhouse, Ashley Brickhouse, LaShanda Allen, Marietta Wilson, Markee Wilson, Charmaletta Mapp, Azarelle Duncan (Mike) and Azariah Mapp; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Judison Theodore Savage (Jennida); one sister, Eleanor Elizabeth Hunter; two brothers-in-law Randolph Mapp (Mary) and Willliam Webb Jr.; and a host nieces, nephews and cousins.
In Appreciation
The Mapp family would like to specially thank A Friend In Need caregivers, Betty Tucker and Tonya Kates; Riverside Shore Hospice nurses RN Tina Lecato; CNAs, Amber Davis, April Walker, Sandra Warrington, Essence Milbourne, Tysheia Lilliston and social worker, Julie Nibblett. In Loving Memory of my Sweet and Loving Aunt

Aunt Gloria graced this world for 92 years with a heart full of love, a spirit grounded in faith, and a presence that made everyone feel at home. Her kindness wasn´t just a trait - it was a reflection of her deep relationship with God. She lived her faith daily, in both quiet strength and generous warmth, leaving behind a legacy of grace and unconditional love.

Her laughter was infectious - the kind that turned ordinary moments into celebrations. And her gentle hospitality made every visit to her home unforgettable. I will never forget the times I spent the night at your house, Aunt Gloria. You made every moment special and fun, filling those hours with joy, comfort, and a sense of belonging that only you could create.

And of course, there was always a sweet treat waiting. That famous 7Up pound cake wasn´t just delicious - it was a symbol of her love and generosity, shared freely and often, just like her heart.

Today, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a woman deeply loved. Aunt Gloria has returned to the embrace of her Heavenly Father, her faith fulfilled, her joy complete. Though we miss her dearly, we carry her spirit with us - in laughter, in kindness, and in every moment made special by love.

With love, Alita (Aniya and Ayden)
