Gloria Massey Norris (Pickens)

Mrs. Gloria Massey Norris (Pickens) Age 84, of Hartwell, GA, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born on November 23, 1940, Gloria was the daughter of the late Joel Preston "JP" Massey, Sr. and Ruby Stovall Massey. Gloria was a faithful, devoted member of New Prospect Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities over the years. Her love for God and her church family was evident in every part of her life.

A talented seamstress, Gloria worked at American Manufacturing in Hartwell, GA, until her retirement. She was known for her creativity, her kind heart, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome.

Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and her family meant the world to her. She was a true matriarch, offering wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support to everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom James Norris; her son, Kendall "Wesley" Norris; her brothers, Bill and Larry Massey; and her granddaughter, Brittany Norris Clark.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Samuel "Sam" Pickens; her daughter, Malinda Norris Heaton (Calvin); her sons, Steven Norris (John), Tony Norris (Missy), and Greg Norris, all of Hartwell, GA; and her stepdaughter, Rita Wilson (Clark) of Waynesville, NC. She is also survived by her sisters, JoAnn Brown (Milton) of Bowersville, GA and brothers, Herbert Massey and Preston Massey (Teresa) of Hartwell.

Gloria's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Stephanie Norris, Michael Norris (Kasey), Kim Pierce (Charlie), Kevin Norris (Ashley), Amber Temple (Isaac), John Clark, Travis Sigmon (Marissa), Amber Sigmon, Jodie McElroy (Blayne), Vance Wilson (Erika), and Branson Duvall (Zakk). She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren: Makalla Scott (Weston), Allexus Lopez, Ayden, Avery, Ashton, and Austyn Norris, Camille Pierce, Connor, Kain, and Emersyn Norris, Chloe and Asher Marchman, Kale, Kacen, and Kanler Temple, Gage and Austin Clark, Kaden and Blaine Sigmon, Freya Monnier, Alijah and Jonah McElroy, and Nolan and Lethair Wilson, and Alexis Love.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. A celebration of Gloria's life will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. She will be laid to rest at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to New Prospect Baptist Church or St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.

The family will be at the home of Gloria, located at 167 Shallow Creek Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
