Mrs. Gloria Deane O'Neal

O'NEAL, Gloria Mrs. -Age 72, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Henry Ford Genesys in Grand Blanc, MI. Family hour 1:30 PM. Thursday, September 11, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd,, with memorial service commencing at 2:00 PM, Pastor Douglas Banks, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the Funeral Home 1:30 PM Thursday. There will be no public viewing. Mrs. Gloria Deane (Walker) O'Neal was born March 10, 1953, in Hahira, Georgia, the oldest of 8 siblings born to William and Vermalee Walker. Gloria attended Flint Community Schools and graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, "Class of 1971." She also attended Mott College. Gloria was an active member of Vernon Chapel AME Church. She was an employee since she was 19 years old. Gloria worked at Genesys Henry Ford Hospital (St. Joseph Hospital) where she recently retired with 54 years of service. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, shopping and hanging out with her good girl friends, "The Sister Wives." Gloria also enjoyed family outings, sporting her shoe collection, and watching TLC/Judge Shows. She loved going to work taking care of patients and was a huge Michigan State Fan, "Go Green." Mrs. Gloria Deane O'Neal leaves to cherish her memory: 4 children, LaDeana (Derrin) Rawls, Larry (Anjela) O'Neal, LaLonda O'Neal, all of Flint and LaWanna O'Neal of Olive Branch, MS; granddaughters, Deandrea O'Neal, Aalisha O'Neal, Alazae O'Neal, all of Flint, Aalaya O'Neal and Samaria O'Neal, both of Romulus, MI; bonus granddaughters, Danicks Sims, FaRanda Sanders, of Flint, Lyajha Rawls of Burlington, IA, Keionna, Imani, and Camille Johnson of Burton, MI; 6 bonus great-grandchildren; mother, Verma Lee Walker; sisters, Brenda Walker of Flint and Darlene Walker of Decatur, Ga; 4 brothers, Wendell Walker of Conley, GA, William Walker Jr. of Flint, Wayne Walker and Deron (Melissa) Walker of Grand Blanc, MI; nieces and nephews, Shaylonda Strong of Flint, Danielle Strong of Conyers, GA, Makalen Walker and Madelyn Walker, both of Grand Blanc, MI, Darrius Strong of Conyers, GA and Jalen Walker of Grand Blanc, MI; great-nieces and great-nephew, Kennedi Strong of Flint, Garbielle Strong and Elijah Strong-Brown, both of Conyers, GA; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Allison Taylor, Gary Reinhart and Deb "Sissy" Franks. Mrs. O'Neal was preceded in death by her father, William C. Walker Sr.; grandparents, Andrew Walker, Essie "Lil Mama" Singleton, Essie Register "Big Mama" and Sylvester Register; sister, Debra Walker; a host of aunts and uncles.
