Gloria Rose Rich, 97, of Rockland, Massachusetts, formerly of Weymouth, Massachusetts, passed away on November 4, 2025. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Haydock) Brown and sister of the late Albert Brown, Eleanor Joyal, Ruth Killion, and Lilla Balon, Gloria and her family moved to Dorchester from Gilman, Vermont, when she was a teenager. She graduated from Dorchester High School for girls.
In 1950, she married the love of her life, Charles Rich. They were married 58 years until his passing in 2008. She is survived by their four children: Diane Webster and her husband Jay of Pembroke; Charles Rich, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Hanson; Gloria DiBari and her husband Jerome of Walpole; and Linda Fogarty and her husband Robert of Pembroke. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Eric Westwater, Christopher Rich, Allison Rich, Joseph Rich, Michael DiBari, Elle Jelloe, Craig Fogarty, Sarah Cabral, Keith Fogarty; and three great grandchildren: Niall Fogarty, Robin Rich and Maddox Rich. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Gloria's life was all about her children and grandchildren. She rarely missed a game, play or
whatever activities they were involved in growing up. After moving to Leisurewoods in Rockland, she and her husband Charlie were high rollers on the bowling teams, participated in all the variety shows and musical shows, welcome committee, and editorial board for the Village Voice. They were also active with the Homeowners' Association for many years and made many lasting friendships. Travel was also a big part of their retirement.
After years of loneliness, Gloria married Dennis Shea, also a resident of Leisurewoods and a widower. They filled each other's lonely years until his passing in 2018. Dennis was the father of three children who Gloria became very fond of: Dennis Shea, Jr; Colleen Medwid; and Karin Herman.
Visitation will be on November 12th, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135
Union Street, Rockland. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13th, 403 Union Street, Rockland, MA, followed by burial at Holy Family Cemetery.
