Gloria DeMoss Smith, age 76, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on May 16, 2025.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA 71118. Funeral services honoring the life of Gloria will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA 71109. Officiating will be Rev. Stephanie Kidd. Honoring Gloria as pallbearers will be Aaron Spears, Andrew Spears, Kenneth Lofton, Joseph Basset, and Jordan Rodgers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Isaac Spears and Jackson Spears.
Gloria earned her master’s degree in education from LSU. She taught early childhood education for 40 plus years and retired as a member of Caddo Teachers. She was a member of Mangum Methodist and First Methodist Church Shreveport. Gloria loved Disney, especially Mickey Mouse. She enjoyed family Halloween parties, serving in her Sunday school class, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was always concerned about her loved one’s wellbeing.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Jim L. Smith. Left to cherish her memory include her children, Robert Smith, Christopher Spears (Alix), Jennifer Lofton (Kenneth), and Jeremy Spears (April); grandchildren, Aaron Spears, Andrew Spears, Isaac Spears, Jackson Spears, Addison Spears, Shelby Robinson (Daniel), Jake Watson, and Kyleigh Smith; great-grandchildren, Hayley Merritt, Gabe Robinson, and Hayden Robinson; along with her brother and sisters-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
