Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Gloria Comeaux Thevenet, 88, who passed away peacefully, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.
Visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Rev. Michael Richard will officiate the funeral service. Readers will be Donna D. Thevenet, Amber T. Dunlap and Dawn B. Breaux.
Inurnment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Gloria a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and love. She enjoyed traveling, playing card games, Scrabble, and Bingo. Most importantly, Gloria cherished her family, especially the "little peoples", as she affectionately referred to her great-grandchildren. Known as "Honey" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she created countless cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.
Gloria, will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire and bring joy to all who knew her.
Gloria is survived by her sons, Jimmy Thevenet (Debbie), Thomas Thevenet (Nancy), Rene Thevenet (Donna), and John Thevenet (Miranda); her daughters, Lola Champagne and Jeanne Bergeron (Ricky Wyatt); 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and her brother, Paul Comeaux.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 1/2 years, James "Pat" Thevenet; parents, J. Roy and Lola Plouet Comeaux; siblings, Lloyd Comeaux, Roy Allen Comeaux, Edith Hanchey, Elsie Patin; grandson, Joey Bergeron; and her sons-in-law, Ray Bergeron and Val Champagne.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, an organization that provided comfort and care to Gloria during her final days.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
