She was born on August 3, 1948, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Marlene was known for her love of traveling, being outdoors, and her unwavering commitment to her family. She worked alongside her husband in their businesses, never shying away from hard work-whether it meant working in the welding shop, operating a tractor, or diligently managing the financial bookwork.
