Gloria Lucille Tiller, 82,
St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 10, 2025.
She was born February 19, 1943 to Alvin and Lucille M. (Dreiling) Goetz in Denver, Colorado.
Despite facing the challenge of cancer not once, but twice, Gloria's unwavering spirit never dimmed; showing the world the true power of hope and perseverance.
In the 1970s, she was co-owner of Poor Denny's where she was affectionately known as "Poor Gloria"; a familiar face, loved by all who crossed the threshold of their family establishment.
Gloria also shared her compassion as a caregiver, working in private home health. This nurturing spirit was one of her most admirable qualities, not confined to her professional life but extended to all areas of her existence.
Gloria was a card player and bingo enthusiast, her competitive yet cheerful nature making every game a memorable event. She enjoyed dancing immensely and tending to her plant-flower gardens. Her favorite hobby was creating and sewing beautiful pieces of plastic canvas, gifting them to delight her family, friends, doctors, nurses, and anyone she met.
Gloria never let anyone leave without one of her signature farewells, a big, wet kiss right on the lips. Like it or not, if you showed up, you were getting one! Her witty humor and orneriness was the spark of countless family gatherings.
With the miracle of her ears and incredible skill, she enjoyed playing Polka's and Waltz's on the piano, accordion, and spoons, despite her inability to read music. Playing at family gatherings and volunteering countless hours at Country Squire, her gift of melodies brought solace and joy into the lives of many.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Al Rainville; children, Audra Bishop, Bruce Bishop and Michael Dermody; brother, James Goetz; former husband and friend, Dennis Tiller.
Survivors include her children, Denise Brune (Shane), Dedre King (Joey), Timothy Dermody (Janelle), and Gregory Dermody; grandchildren, Austin King (Darian), Lucas King (Libby), Ashlyn King, Xander Tiller, Quenton Barron, Caidence Brune, and Jared Dermody (Yevette); great grandchildren, Parker King, Tiller King, Elianna Dermody, Christian Dermody, and Dominic Dermody; and sister, Jackie Hardwick.
