Gloria Jean Touchet, born on January 21, 1949, in Jennings, Louisiana, was a beloved wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a deeply cherished godmother — lovingly known to many as Mimi and Nanny. Her warmth, compassion, and vibrant spirit touched countless lives and left a lasting legacy of love.

She shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband, Robert “Bobby” Touchet, and was the heart of her family. Gloria was a loving and supportive mother to Todd, Rachel and Gwen, and she embraced her role as godmother, grandmother and great-grandmother with pride and joy. There was nothing that she loved more than visiting with her grandkids (Alyssa, Shelby, Brittany, Ryland, Reiden, Gavin, and Brittnie) and great-grandchildren (Sophie, Gracie and Lincoln.) She was honored in becoming guardian for her niece Jessica LeJeune after her brother’s passing. And of course, then there was Lil Bit, her fearless co-captain.

Gloria and Bobby have been together since she was 14 years old; a total of 62 years. They passionately enjoyed cheering on their favorite sports teams together. Whether she was rooting for LSU, the Houston Texans, the Astros, or the New Orleans Saints, her enthusiasm was unmatched and often contagious. They also enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time with their family/friends, and even arguing a time or two! When Bobby tried to make a decision in the house, she quickly informed him of what he meant to say or what he should have done instead! She was tiny but mighty! Everyone knew that she ruled the roost! He wore the pants, but she definitely picked them out!

A self-taught bookkeeper, Gloria was hard-working and resilient. She carried herself with quiet strength and lived with integrity and heart in everything she did. She never gave up, regardless of the situation, and NEVER lost an argument. She always came up with creative solutions to every problem and was quick to offer advice, whether you wanted it or not! Gloria was known for being fun-loving, compassionate, and full of laughter. Her smile could brighten any room, and her kind, welcoming nature made others feel instantly at ease. She gave her love generously and lived a life filled with purpose and heart.

Those that knew Gloria, loved Gloria! But over the last few years, she struggled with a multitude of health issues that affected her quality of life. Bobby faithfully stood by her side and became her caregiver. She became dependent on him for a lot of things in life; knowing that he would take care of her until the bitter end. While she was not ready to leave her family and friends, she was at peace knowing that she would eventually be reunited with her family in heaven. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all those who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and the joy she brought into every life she touched.

Left to cherish Gloria’s memory are her husband, Robert Touchet, son; Stephen (Dawn) Touchet, daughters; Gwen (Duane) Innmon and Rachel (Gene Jr.) Hicks, sister; JoAnn (Bob) Bryant, brother; Nathan “Rabbit” (Debora) LeJeune, sister-in-law; Jennifer LeJeune, grandchildren; Alyssa Touchet, Shelby Innmon, Brittany Innmon, Gavin Innmon, Ryland Hicks, Reiden Hicks, and Brittnie Adams; great-grandchildren Sophie Rodriguez, Lincoln and Gracie Adams, niece Jessica LeJeune.

She was preceded in death by parents, Fannie and Loydson LeJeune, and brothers, Henry and Terry LeJeune.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday May 25, 2025, in the funeral home chapel, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continues until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Deacon Mike Tramel will officiate the services.

She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
