Gloria Yonnone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The DiDonato Funeral Service, Inc. on Mar. 14, 2026.
Gloria J. Yonnone passed on March 12, 2026 while at Taconic Rehabilitation in Beacon, N.Y. She was 75 years old. Born November 10, 1950 to Chester and Emma Frances Noviello in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. She grew up in New Windsor.

She was predeceased by her Mom and Dad and her one Brother (Richard)

Gloria married Sam Yonnone, August 19 1972 at Sacred Heart Church Newburgh. They lived in Newburgh for a time and then built their home in Marlboro. There were 3 children Mark, living in Newburgh, Matthew, (deceased) and John (wife Kelly), living in Paxton Mass. She has 5 Grandchildren Dominic, Krystin, Samuel, Matthew, and Jack. 3 in Newburgh 2 in Paxton.

Gloria worked for the Air Force at Stewart for a number of years and after they moved from Newburgh she went to IBM where she spent the next 33 years. After retiring from IBM she had a small business for a number of years. It was then that a close family friend, Father Dennis Dinian came to her and asked if she would come to work for St. Francis of Assisi church in Newburgh as an office manager. She remained with the church until retiring a second time. It was at that time that a very good friend came to her asked her to come work for Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh, as a bookkeeper/administrative assistant. She loved all her co-workers, volunteers, and clients that she interacted with on a daily basis, and again spent a number of years with them. With the third retirement she decided it was time to take a rest.

Gloria was known to her Grandchildren as "Mae". A name bestowed on her by her eldest grandson and one that she took great pride in. She was completely dedicated to the five grandkids. She'd travel to Massachusetts for the day to spend a holiday or to watch a competition, never miss a school function and never miss a chance to flower any one of them with a present. When they were at the house they had to go to Mae for one of those prolonged hugs that you only get from Mae.

The love that she showed everyone had to come from her love of God. It was paramount in her life and obvious by the smiling, happy, caring way she dealt with everyone. She's missed.

Calling hours will be from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday March 19th at the DiDonato Funeral Home 1290 Route 9W Marlboro NY 12542
