Bowman Funeral Directors - Garden CityIt is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Bouza, who died on December 4, 2025, in Eagle, Idaho, at the age of 92, born May 30, 1933, in South Dakota. Gordon bravely served his country, enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1953. While stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, he met the love of his life, Connie Howerton. They were married in 1955 and built a home and life together in Boise, where they raised their two children, Alan and Rena. He was a dedicated employee, working for Idaho Power for 33 years, until his retirement. After Connie’s passing, Gordon found companionship, happiness, and love once more when he married Phyllis Kelly in 2000. They shared 25 wonderful years together, filled with travel across the U.S. and overseas, including several memorable cruises. Their home in Meridian was a hub of warmth and hospitality, hosting many cherished family gatherings and dinners over the years. Anyone who knew Gordon knew he loved hunting and fishing spending many hours in the outdoors enjoying God’s creation. Throughout his life he was active in bible studies, Bible Study Fellowship, Boise Rescue Mission, and many home bible studies. Gordon was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis Kelly; his daughter, Rena Kelly, and her husband, James. He leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Lisa Wolin (husband Jason, children Caleb, Courtney, Brock, Carlyn, Marc and his fiancée Aydree, Dawson, and Kaylia); Chad Stewart (wife Ashley, children Emma and Noah); Ryan Stewart and Nikki Nieves. Gordon is also survived by Phyllis’s children and grandchildren, whom he welcomed as his own: Stan and Nancy Kelly and their children Ben and Rebecca Kelly (children Luke, Noah, and Hosanna); and Ashley Kelly and Pierre Bishop (their son Loyal); and Brenda and Denis Spackman. Gordon was preceded in death by his first wife, Connie (1999) and his son, Alan Bouza (2017), his parents, and all four of his siblings. A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at 8:30 am on January 5, 2026, at the Heron River HOA Clubhouse, located at 9800 W. Gloxinia St., Star, Idaho. This gathering will be open to all who wish to pay their respects. Following the celebration, a military committal service at 11:00 am, also open to all, will take place at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Bowman Funeral Home, Garden City, Idaho.
