Gordon Hall Brookshear, 88, of Whitesboro, Texas, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Gordon was born on November 22, 1936 in Whitesboro, Texas to Herman and Lafan (Hall) Brookshear. He married Christine Stewart on June 14, 1975. He was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. Gordon was a butcher by trade, and he got his start at Brookshear's grocery in Whitesboro, and he retired from Clinnon's Grocery after many years of service to the community. He enjoyed being outside, hunting or riding horses. He loved his family and cherished the moments with them. Gordon was a faithful member of the Bones Chapel Church in Whitesboro and spent a lot of time reading and studying his bible.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Brookshear of Whitesboro; daughter, Pam Nichols and husband, Randy of Keller; son, Eddie Brookshear of Muenster; son, Keith Brookshear of Nocona; daughter, Kristie Walton of Whitesboro; sister, Linda Ruebeck and husband, Chris of Sherman; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lafan Brookshear and daughter, Lesa Brookshear.
Memorial services honoring Gordon will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Bones Chapel Church in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney. At this time no formal visitation is scheduled. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
