Gordon G. Newell

Leeds, MA — Gordon G. Newell, 70, of Leeds passed away on August 1, 2021, at Hartford Hospital after suffering a sudden stroke. He was born in Northampton on July 10, 1951, he was the second son to the late Raymond D. Newell Jr. and to Irene (Harubin) Newell.

He was a 1969 graduate of Northampton High School and a self-taught two-way communications technician. He owned and operated a communications tech business for nearly 40 years. He made many lasting friendships with his business customers and worked closely with personnel from several western Massachusetts town, fire, police and highway departments.

He leaves his mother Irene Newell at home in Leeds; a brother David and wife Virginia Newell of Ashfield; a nephew Jared Newell and wife Caitlin of Bennington, Vermont as well as a great nephew Jackson Newell and great niece Alys Newell – both of Bennington – both cherished by Gordon.

A private family service will be held at the Spring Grove Cemetery at a later date. DROZDAL FUNERAL HOME of Northampton has been entrusted with his services.
