Mr. Gordon Ezekiel Nichols, 79, passed way on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Belle Maison Nursing Home in Hammond, Louisiana. He was born February 21, 1935 in Floyd County, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Vera Annie Gordon Nichols; daughters, Susan (Bruce) Angell, Patricia (Scott) Angle, Candice (Curtis) Dennis, Nicole (Larry) Montecino; grandchildren, Alex, Zack, Callie, Kayla, Brandee, Natalie; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Burton Nichols; sisters, Flossie Moran, Tressie Sigmon, and Shirley Mauk; and step-children, Earl Brent McCarroll and Stormie (David) Bourgeois; step-grandchildren, Lainy, Lawson, Judah, Lacy, Clint, Harley, Jamie, and Breann; and several step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezekiel "Zeke" Chris and Ruth Jane Conner Nichols; brothers, Robert, Billy, and Alton Nichols; sisters, Eunice Guilliams and Annie Moran. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a funeral service beginning at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Restvale Cemetery in Copperhill, Virginia. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Attn: Megan Bourg, 3445 N. Causeway, Suite 902, Metairie, LA 70002 or online at www.alz.org.

I cant visit your grave in real life but i love and miss you just the same, so ill leave some roses here in my papas name. I was just a teenager when God took you away there are so many things we never got to see or do or say. But 1 thing I know for sure is that you were a great man,I just wanted to say i love you though i wasnt always there i hope youll understand. Love you pawpaw nick. -brandee
