Theresa Mathews Obituary
Theresa Mathews passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 63. She was born on Wednesday, July 11, 1962 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Margaret Usry and the late Curtis Usry. She was a resident of Walker, Louisiana. Theresa fought hard in her battle with cancer over the past 10 yrs. She loved her family, including her fur baby Tanzy, and fishing. Theresa will be remembered as someone who never met a stranger.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Michael "Mike" Mathews; children, Eric (Paige) and Brian (Amanda) Mathews; grandchildren, Kayden and Jayce Mathews, Hunter, Haileigh, Payton, Preston, and Brennah; mother, Margaret Usry; siblings, Terry (Melanie) and Mark (Wendy) Usry, and Jan Smith (Tommy); father-in-law, Roland Mathews; in-laws, Stephanie Meade (Jim) and Andrew Mathews, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Usry; mother-in-law, Rita Mathews, and nephew, Thomas Bradley Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 11:00 am until services begin at 1:00 pm.
Interment will follow in Old Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Independence, Louisiana.
