Gordon Proctor

Gordon Proctor, 93, departed this life peacefully on December 29, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Ellen Armstrong Proctor. He was born in Quincy, MA on June 1, 1932 to the late Elmer and Marjorie (Morrison) Proctor.
Gordon received his BS in Business Administration in 1954 from Rutgers University. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry from January 1955 to January 1957. Gordon worked at CHR Industries for 33 1/2 years, starting as Stock Item Manager and retiring as the President.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Ellen Proctor; daughter Jeanne Cinnamon and husband Neil; son Gregory Proctor and wife Amy; son Alan Proctor and wife Linda; daughter Linda Fields and husband Bob. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchild. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his siblings: Elmer Proctor, Jr., Christine Montgomery, Nancy Proctor and Marjorie Anderson.
Services will be held in New Hampshire this spring.
Gordon loved his family, dogs, wildlife, traveling, skiing, boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, bird watching, and sports including football, baseball, and basketball.
Gordon had a long and rewarding career, which included traveling all over the USA and Europe. Once retired, Gordon volunteered as Publicity Director for the Winnipesaukee Wellness Center, for many years.
Gordon enjoyed many adventures with his wife, Ellen. They drove across the USA visiting national parks, rafted 186 miles down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, skied the Dolomite Mountains in the Italian Alps, skied Mt Bachelor in Bend Oregon, cruised the West Coast to Alaska, cruised the East Coast from Boston to Montreal, Canada, flew to Europe for a Viking River Cruise on the Danube River from Budapest, Hungary to Nuremberg, Germany stopping in Vienna, Austria and 5 other European cities. They visited Spain to visit friends, Joop and Gerda Groenewegen, at their beautiful La Pocicas home near the Mediterranean. They loved to winter on Jekyll Island enjoying the beautiful beaches, golf courses, Arts Festival, wildlife, bike trails, flowers and warmer weather.
