Gordon A. Roberts passed away surrounded by family on December 3rd, 2025 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on August 6th, 1937 in Joseph, Utah to Joseph and Mildred Roberts.

He served his country in the United States Air Force. He went on to work and retire from Georgia Pacific where he was the foreman in their warehouse.

Gordon married the love of his life Cherye Roberts on May 25th, 1957 and together they shared 68 wonderful years. During that time, they raised 3 children and always enjoyed spending time with family. Gordon loved it so much, he went on a search for a retreat that his family could gather at. Spending countless weekends building a cabin from the ground up in Fairview, Utah, he provided a place for his family to relax together and cruise around in UTV’s through nature.

He was a skilled wood and metal worker, collecting any scraps he could find uses for and welding them together. Many benefitted from his knowledge and handiwork and you’ll find items he’s created in each of his family member’s households.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Cherye; his three children, Shane Roberts (Brenda), Terry Roberts, and Kim Spratt (Mike); six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and all nine of his siblings; Arlene Harward, LaFonda Curtis, Derane Roberts, LaDean Barney, Virginia Martinez, Loren Roberts, Warren Roberts, Joseph (LaVoy) Roberts, and DeVona Ericksen.

A special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Veteran’s Administration Hospital for their loving care of Gordon.

Services will be held Friday, December 12th at 1:30 PM at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT. There will be a visitation one hour prior starting at 12:30 PM. Interment to follow at Valley View Memorial Park located at 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT.
