Mr. Stauffer was one of the teachers who treated us as adults, not children. He told us stories that still help us in our lives. He gave advice when asked and encouragement when needed. God Bless his Soul. May he rest in eternal peace.

I had Mr. Stauffer for biology the third year he taught at New Philadelphia. One of the interesting things he shared with us was his summer tenure at Oak Ridge Nuclear in Tennessee. He was a brilliant man, a wonderful teacher and it was a privilege to know him...

I was a senior in the 1962-62 school year at Tusky Valley. My dad was the Guidance Counselor there at that time so I had a little more contact with the teachers out of the classroom than most of the other students. I had Mr. Stauffer for physics and remember him as a vert knowledgeable teacher. Nothing flashy, just real down-to-earth and respectful of the students A real prince of a man. Apparently, as a teenager, he had worked for my grandpa one summer as a farm hand. He and my dad were in the hay mow stacking sheaves so they could be fed into the thresher> A rain storm came up so "the boys" got to take a break. I remember how Mister Stauffer commented on "the peaceful sound of the rain on the barn roof". Someone as brilliant as him remarking about the simple pleasurers of the sound of rain, Incredible! He was truly a remarkable gentleman.

Mr. Stauffer was my physics teacher at New Philadelphia High School. He was a great teacher and because of him I was ready to tackle college physics with my trusty slide rule. My condolences to the family.
