Mrs. Grace Parks Barber, age 91, widow of Herbert Barber, passed away peacefully at her home, Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Grace was born in Union, January 3, 1934. She was the baby of 16 children born to Joseph and Carrie Lawson Parks. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Grace was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church and then New Life Baptist Church. She was the nursery worker for Sunday School hours for many years until her health declined. A caregiver by nature, Grace cared for and sat with many friends and family members as they would need her. Being able to care for others was very rewarding to her and she truly loved each one she cared for.

Surviving are a son, Perry Barber and wife Jackie; two daughters, Lisa B. Lancaster and husband Ned and Amanda B. Cole; a daughter-in-law, Delores Barber; eight grandchildren, Blane Lancaster (Tiffany), Mallori L. Hoover (Ryan), Jenna Barber (David Morrow), Kayce Barber, Leigh Ann Edgins, Brad Barber (Katie), Megan Conley, and Katelyn Conley (Colby); sixteen great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary B. Hyder, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Tim Barber, a son-in-law, Ron Cole, nine brother and six sisters.

The family extends a heartfelt Thank You to her caregivers, Angie Jacks and Kim Garner for all the love and care you gave our Mama. Also Thank You to Dee, Lezlie, and Pastor Todd with Wren Hospice. You were exceptional in everything you did for Mama.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2025, at New Life Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner and Pastor Todd Johnson. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services.

To have all of “Aunt Grace’s” nieces and nephews from both sides of her family sit together would have truly put a smile on her face. She loved each and every one of you.

Memorials may be made Wren Hospice, 955 W. Wade Hampton Blvd., Greer, SC 29850.

The family will be at the home, 111 Camelot Dr., Union.
