Grace A. Mathiot, 91, formerly of Marietta and Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, at Paramount Nursing and Rehab in Fayetteville, after a brave and lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. Grace was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert H. Mathiot, who passed in January of 2021. She was born on September 26, 1934 to the late Herbert C. and Mary H. (Anthony) Range.
Grace retired from the former Wyeth Laboratories in Marietta. Following retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling. Grace and her husband had attended Community Bible Church in Marietta and Mount Calvary Church in Elizabethtown.
Grace is survived by her daughters, Pamela Hoover, wife of Steven of Maytown and Stephanie Woody, wife of TJ of Manheim; and her son, Steven Mathiot, husband of Julie (Boyer) of Akron. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Nikelle Morris Druck, Lauren Hoover Rogers, Alyssa Hoover Ott, and Alanna Woody; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Morris, and a granddaughter, Olivia Woody. Grace was also preceded in death by her siblings: Marie Shearer, Mary Frymoyer, Janet Nein, and Emerson, Alvin, and Alice Range.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In Grace’s honor, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at www.MichaelJFox.org.
