Grace McLeod

Grace McLeod, 98, of Waupun, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the Christian Homestead in Waupun.

Grace was born December 29, 1925 in Gilman, WI; the daughter of Frank and Mary (Bobish) Hodowanic. She grew up in rural Gilman on a farm. Her parents came directly from the Ukraine. Grace was baptized and a long-time member of the Russian Orthodox Church in Huron, WI. She celebrated the Orthodox holidays and passed down the traditions to her children. She worked at Minneapolis-Honeywell defense plant in Chicago from 1945-1946. She married her neighborhood sweetheart, Ken, on September 1, 1948 in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Waupun in 1954. She raised her children and in 1973 became employed as a CNA at the Christian Home in Waupun for 22 years from which she retired. Grace volunteered at the Senior Center and Marsh Haven Nature Center in Waupun. She was a member of the Union-Congregational Church in Waupun. 

Grace is survived by her sons: Eugene (Jackie) McLeod of Brothertown, WI and Paul (Sonya Williams) of Waupun; daughter, Susan (Brian) Bradley of Randolph; two grandchildren: Adam Bradley of Randolph and Michael (Alicia) Bradley of Hartford; and great-grandchild, Greyson; along with many other family and friends. 

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Ken in 1984; six sisters; five brothers; and an infant sister. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. The burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton.
