On Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, Grace Viola Mickow was called to her heavenly home at the age of 94. Her faith, built on The Rock-Jesus Christ, began on March 19, 1930 when she was born and baptized at the parsonage of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Almond, Wisconsin to Rev. E. W. Henry and Martha Mueller.  She was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, WI on December 20, 1942.  On June 26, 1954 she married Rev. Vernon Mickow at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Milwaukee with her father officiating the wedding.  Together they led a faith-filled life and were blessed with four children. 

She is survived by her children, Lucy Mickow, Laurie Bartels and Dan Mickow; her grandsons, Luther D. Mickow (Nirali), Jason Mickow (Jessica), Cody Mickow (Briana), Zach Mickow and Ian Bartels; her beloved great-grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews among other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Vernon; son Luther; parents, Rev. Henry and Martha Mueller; siblings, Trudy (John) Marx, Milton (June) Finster, Marcy (John) Crimi, Adeline Wuerch Kraft (Eldon Wuerch and Jerry Kraft), and Gloria (Walter) Pipkorn; and sister-in-law Marilyn (Robert) Chapman. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. all at Christ the Life Lutheran Church, 3031 Summit Ave., Waukesha, WI 53188. Pastor Christopher Bushre will preside.  Graveside services will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Grace’s name are appreciated to Christ the Life Lutheran Church (address above) or Concordia Theological Seminary, 6600 N. Clinton St., Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
