Grace Rodriguez Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Grace Rodriguez, 62, passed away peacefully from pneumonia on May 22, 2025 surrounded with love by her family at home.
Grace was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 7, 1963. She married the love of her life, Rick in 1982.
Grace was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1993.
Even after remission, she never let her disabilities stop her from living by faith. Her faith was to be admired. The first thing she did daily when she woke was sending scriptures to her family and friends.
Leaving behind a legacy of faith and love for her family, Grace is survived by her mother, Elvira Lopez of Kyle, TX; her husband of 44 years, Rick Rodriguez; her two daughters, Melissa Zertuche and husband Anthony Zertuche, Amanda Rodriguez and husband Adrian Salas; grandchildren Devin Tovar, Alexis Salas, Isabella Zertuche, Mason Zertuche, Marcellus Salas, Cylas Salas, Angelo Zertuche and Illianna Zertuche, all of San Marcos, TX.
Grace took extreme pride in decorating for the holidays. Particularly, Christmas. The decor she used was magic to her grandchildren.
Grace expressed her love to her family by cooking. No one could make a better tortilla, enchiladas or menudo in our eyes.
To know Grace was to love her. Her loving spirit, kindness, uplifting words, her beautiful cards with loving notes in her beautiful handwriting and daily prayers via text will be missed. We take comfort in knowing where she is and we look forward to being together again for all eternity.
When you think of Grace, don't be sad. We ask that you smile. Smile because she gave us so much joy. Grace has taught us a lesson in life, a reminder to hold our loved ones close, to find joy in the simple pleasures and to live with a heart full of faith.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Christus Hospice. Notably, Candace Flores and Margarita Rodriguez. Their compassion, kindness and professionalism they provided will forever be imprinted in our hearts. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Grace, please visit our Tree Store.
