Grace Rody

Grace M. (D'Amato) Rody, 84, of Fort Wayne, IN entered her heavenly home on Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Westfield, IN. Grace was born August 6, 1933 in Astoria Long Island NY and had lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana for 78 years. She was a secretary at the Fort Wayne Developmental Center for 22 years, retiring in 1998. Grace was a member of St Jude Catholic Church and was also a Past Member of American Business Women's Assoc, New Era Chapter, provided countless hours of volunteer work for the Police Athletic League, Rosary Sodality and a volunteer at St Jude. She enjoyed traveling, cross stitch and her children and grandchildren. Grace touched the lives of everyone she met and will be remembered as kind, loving, caring, giving and inspirational. Grace is survived by daughters; Theresa Marie (Barry) Dickinson of Westfield, IN, Cynthia Louise (Tim) Heston and Christina Angela (Randy) Lewandowski both of Carmel, IN, Amy Kathleen Au of Island Lake, IL; sons, David Michael (Olga) Rody of Indianapolis, IN and Dennis Paul (Audrey) Rody of Columbia, TN; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Angelina D'Amato, husband, Thomas M. Rody and granddaughter Amanda Au. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Monday, January 22, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr. Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a rosary at 3:30 pm. Entombment will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to: Leukemia And Lymphoma Society or St. Vincent's Hospice.
