Funeral Service for Grace Vaughn, age 103, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home, Sulphur Springs, Texas with Bro. Brian Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at Aiguier Cemetery in Hopkins County. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Vaughn, Johnny Vaughn, Jason Vaughn, Mitchell Vaughn, Ronald Denny, and Jerry Brandenburgh. Grace passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Grace Virginia Vaughn was born to Charles Peter and Minnie (Shoemaker) Clauser on January 18, 1921 in Allentown, PA. She married the love of her life Hubert Alfred Charles Vaughn on July 16, 1943 in Pennsylvania. Together they had seven children and were married for 51 years until his passing in 1994. Grace was a Lab Tech before having children, then she was a full-time wife, mother, and homemaker. She attended the Posey Baptist Church and St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Sulphur Springs.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Ellen Vaughn of Dallas, Texas; sons, Jim Vaughn and wife Sandra of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Chip Vaughn and wife Jan of Tira, Texas, Charlie Vaughn and wife Susan of North Hopkins, Texas, John Vaughn and wife Linda of North Hopkins, Texas, and Tim Vaughn and wife Lori of North Hopkins, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and sister, Doris Hershey of North Canton, Ohio.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Minnie Clauser; husband, Hubert Alfred Charles Vaughn; son, Larry Vaughn; granddaughter, Shiloh Vaughn; infant twin granddaughters; grandson, Josh Vaughn, and great-granddaughter, Averie Davidson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aiguier Cemetery Association at 332 CR 3620, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
