Graciela M Marin

Graciela M. Marin passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. Surrounded by loved ones, she faced her illness with strength, dignity, and grace.
Born on November 16, 1949, in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico, Graciela was renowned for her deep love for family and her unwavering faith. She cherished being at home-cooking and preparing everyone's favorite tamales and gorditas. Her warmth filled the house as she danced, laughed, and joked with her nieces and nephews.
Graciela enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Floor Manager at Republic Drill Corp., where she was respected for her strong work ethic and natural leadership.
She was a devoted wife to Eligio Marin, a proud mother to Evangelina Marin and Cesar Marin, and a doting grandmother to Analise Grace Marin. Graciela was the beloved daughter of the late Jose Medina Navarro and the late Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez. She was a cherished sister to the late Guadalupe (Antonio) Mendoza, the late Jesus (Ramon) Hernandez, the late Jose Luis (Marcela) Medina, Victor (Bertha) Medina, Maria Esther (Rene) Sturgeon, Roberto Medina, and a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Murtuza Rampurwala, MD, and the medical staff at UChicago Medicine (Orland Park) for their expertise, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Their exceptional care throughout Graciela's courageous battle with cancer brought comfort, hope, and love to Graciela and her loved ones during a most difficult time. Graciela was always greeted with love and hugs at every visit, which made each appointment a little brighter and filled her heart with joy.
Graciela will be remembered for her kindness, her joyful spirit, and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her. She lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
