Gradene Lawson, 82, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in Georgetown, Kentucky. Born in Perry County, Kentucky to the late Mary Shepherd and Roscoe Halcomb on September 15, 1943.
Gradene attended Salem Missionary Baptist Church, where she and Uncle Fred got baptized. She found joy in tending to her yard and caring for her flowers. She loved to subscribe to magazines, clipped out articles and recipes of interest, and collecting coupons. She managed to make a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Gradene is survived by her sister, Martha Bell; her nieces, Sandra Humphries, Donna Halcomb, Samantha Robinson, Sherri Ross, Misty Armfield, and Schavon McCune; nephews, Frank Workman, Mike Kelly, Jimmy Wagner, and Jason Wagner; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Lawson; her sisters, Dona Halcomb and Uldene Armfield; and her brothers, Archie Halcomb, Winford Halcomb, Bee Halcomb, and Troy Halcomb.
A funeral service honoring Gradene will be held Tuesday, September 30 at 2 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 925 East Hanna Avenue Indianapolis 46227. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Garden. Friends may gather for visitation from 12 pm until the time of the service.
Gradene will forever be in the hearts of everyone who loves her. She is at peace with the Lord Jesus Christ.
